Demands and pressure from work is inevitable. Encountering a person who has a severe disease, dealing with different kinds of people and supervisor flooding demanding work loads are the common scenarios that medical assistants are experiencing at work.

Since medical assistants roles are tied with complicated challenges, they are very predisposed to stress. We all know that stress is not good. It can cause harmful symptoms to arise both physical and emotional. To overcome stress and work related demands, here are a few ways:

Be Optimistic
A change of mind can help you turn things around positive. Positive mind plus positive action is equals to positive outcome. Never dismay. Take every opportunity to learn and to show your supervisor that you’re tough. Who knows, you may be promoted because of that task.

Get Comfort From Pals
Yes, we need someone, our pals. No man is an island. Being positive can be more efficient when someone is helping us down the road. Nice words from mom, sister, co-worker can be invigorating. Find time to talk or hang out with them and release the stress within you. Ask help when you have to and don’t keep the burden to yourself. People need someone to lean on. Of course, try to hang out with good influenced individuals.

Know What Makes You Happy

Many studies showed that hobbies can eliminate stress. Apparently, those who keep themselves physically fit are less prone to stress. Recreation activities are also linked to greater levels of positive psychosocial states and reduced depression. Try to engage in positive recreations like singing, dancing, playing games and drawing. Another simple way to lessen the effects of stress is to do something fun and pleasurable.

Be Orderly
Planning is key to get away from the negative effects of stress. Psychologists said, one main reason why people becomes exasperated and jittery is because they cannot accomplish anything from their lists. Sadly, even the to do list is not planned. The right way to organize your engagements is to prioritize. Try to win the important things first. Evaluate your schedule at the end of the day and check what you have accomplished. This can help you in organizing your plans and happenings.

Reflection Fights Discomfort

Now, if you are a medical assistant you must realized that no one is excused from challenges. It boils down to how effective a person reacts to stress. Follow the tips mentioned above on how to conquer stress and surely you will be able to enjoy being a medical assistant. No one is perfect. It is okay if you breakout once or twice.

Board Games Booming Business In A Slow Economy

Despite the doom and gloom reports of a poor economy, the board game industry is experiencing tremendous growth. Consumers are turning away from higher priced entertainment options and turning towards the low cost, simple-to-play, and ever so lowly board game for recreation. Games like Monopoly, Uno, and Skipbo are seeing a surge in sales. In fact, the board game industry has seen double digit growth each of the last few years.

The speculation is that board games represent a return to family values. The consumer strapped with cash, may be foregoing dinner out with the family, and skipping the latest movie, but they still crave to spend time together. Where video games tend to be a more isolated form of recreation, board games are a way to enjoy each others company.

The big three board game manufacturers, Milton Bradley, Parker Brothers, and Hasbro dominate the industry and account for much of the $300,000,000 worth of annual sales. But the rules are changing and even small manufacturers are finding a niche. The internet is leveling the playing field and allowing even the newest start ups to find an audience.

Take for example startup game company, Four Clowns Game & Toy Co, LLC out of Scottsdale, Arizona. Founded by four friends who wanted to bring their dice game to the world they have found the internet to be a fast and easy way to gain sales. Diception is the first game launched by the partners and they claim to have a master list they created that contains upwards of three dozen more ideas they would like to introduce.

Other companies have also sprung up to service this growing market. There are now services such Customopoly which allows anyone to create their own version of the all time classic, Monopoly. Another company that is gaining popularity is The Game Crafter. The Game Crafter website (thegamecrafter.com) allows anyone with just a few clicks of the mouse to invent their own board game, have it packaged, and shipped right to their door step. While their prices are not suitable for creating a game that you plan to resell, it is a great and low cost option for creating prototypes.

The Four Clowns Game & Toy Co, co-founder, Larry Shin, stated recently We researched the game industry thoroughly before investing in Diception. What we found is that when the economy is slowing board game sales tend to heat up. Since we are all family men, with children of our own, we wanted to create a game that our kids could play and enjoy right along with the adults. Diception is that game!

Deciding to get into the game business was an easy decision, but finding suppliers who would work with us to create a game was hard. We are nobodies and for the most part, gaming manufacturers want you to commit to huge quantities of games for your initial run. Eventually we did find a solution, but it was a lot of work. Shinn went on to state.

So while the other industries struggle to find business in this ever slowing economy, the board game business is booming. The industry appears to have many more years of increased growth, and companies both big and small are counting on this growth by creating new titles to satisfy the demand. Playing board games has always been fun and looks as though fun has no end in sight.

New York City Is A Man-made Delight

The Big Apple is more than amazing skyscrapers built with leading edge architecture and technology. The man-made wonders of this city reach into to the depths of the earth and into the heart of nature. Instead of sitting back and basking in the unique contributions they have made to the world, New Yorkers continue to push the boundaries of the extraordinary.

Central Park is one of the greatest man-made developments in history and it was the first landscaped public park in the United States. Leave it to New York to take a swamp and rocky terrain and transform it into some of the most wonderful city park land in the world.

It took 3 million cubic yards of soil, more gunpowder than was used in the Battle of Gettysburg, the moving of 3 million cubic yards of soil, planting of 270,000 trees and shrubs and around 20,000 workers to make the park come to life. Even the water ways are purely designed and developed by man.

Hoffman Island and Swinburne Island are two more “natural” fixtures that were created by New Yorkers. In 1870, the city dumped tones of rock, sand and timbers into New York Harbor to construct the islands. Swinburne was used for a hospital to treat infectious diseases and Hoffman was used as quarantine for those who were exposed to the diseases by not showing symptoms.

Today, both of these islands are under the control of the US National Parks Service and are part of the Gateway National Recreation Area. They serve as sanctuaries for hundreds of waterfowl and are not open to humans.

Fresh Kills Landfill is a now-closed landfill on Staten Island. For 5 years, from 2001 to 2006, the City of New York worked one a master plan to transform the distraction into an attraction.

Leave it to New York to take trash and make it in to treasure. Fresh Kills landfill site is now home to four major habitats: breeding sites, foraging areas, freshwater marshes and wooded swamps. The 2,200 acre site is made up of four landfill mounds is being developed into an ecologically robust landscape and is one of the most ambitious projects for creating settings for recreation, public art, and facilities for sports and other programs.

There is so much wonder in New York and more is being added on the time. Right now, an art project is in the works that will erect 4 massive waterfalls through out the city (including one off of the Brooklyn Bridge). Although these masterpieces will only be around for a few months, most of the man-made wonders in New York are here to stay.

Apparel And Equipment In Sports, Fitness And Recreation

These days there are many big brands that cater to sports, fitness and recreation enthusiasts. Nike catapulted to number one when they hired basketball legend Michael Jordan to endorse for them because at the height of that advertising campaign everyone indeed wanted to be like Mike. They continued their reign and reinforced their being number one when they chose golf’s amazing newest star then Tiger Woods as another endorser.

Adidas is also another leading brand whose latest campaign celebrate originality showcased their collaborations some of the best designers in the world. These brands not only battle in coming up with innovative products, getting the more popular image model or launching award winning advertising campaigns but they even have their presence felt in the movie industry.

In 2000, the movie What Women Want starring Mel Gibson and Helen Hunt was a big hit. The story is about an advertising executive who one day woke up being able to read women’s minds. True, the actors and the plot make for a good movie but Nike gained so much from this movie.

There is no better way to present a new way of thinking in terms of women’s shoes that are great in all areas- sports, fitness and recreation. The movie explained the whole process that Nike had to go through to come up with one product. Just in case you are wondering, the Nike ad representatives in the movie were not actors they were really from Nike and that now Nike has an entire line for women simply called Nike Women.

Adidas, on the other hand, had Goal. Goal is the success story of this small town boy who made it big in the soccerlandia. While more subtle than Nike, the movie stressed that Adidas is number one in football. Nike can claim their throne in the world of basketball but soccer or football will always have Adidas as its number one shoes.

Sports equipments are more easygoing on their Ads, not much brouhaha, it is simply all about the quality of the equipment. Players sporting them are almost usually number one in their fields but they are not required to be as marketable as their apparel endorsers’ counterpart. The point being the best players in their respective fields uses us so if you decide to use as then you can end up number one as well. They are more scientific in their approach owing to details more than just the overall impact.
